Healthy Vegan Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

This healthy cinnamon roll inspired vegan oatmeal dish is flavored like a cinnamon roll without all the added sugar. Sweetened naturally, this is delicious without the added sugar.

  • 3/8 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup plant milk
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 chopped dates
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 tbsp mix seeds (chia, flaxseed, hemp hearts, etc)

Cinnamon Topping

  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Optional dollop of non-dairy vanilla yogurt


  • In a small saucepan, mix together oats, milk, salt, and dates. Bring to a light boil.
  • Stir occasionally, about 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, add the cinnamon and seeds. Stir well. Continue cooking until you've achieved the desired texture.
  • Remove from heat and spoon into a serving bowl.

Cinnamon Topping

  • Mix together the maple syrup and cinnamon. Stir well until combined.
  • Top the oatmeal with this. Also spoon a dollop of non-dairy vanilla yogurt on top for added flavor (optional).
